Today 13th March 2023, GURD-Rwanda in Nyamasheke District
had one day site visit of AmplfyGirls, we discussed about
YOUTH PACKAGE PROJECT
The initiative plan is to support to youth and empower
them with health education package particuraly on sexual and reproductive
health as a way of reducing their risk of getting unwanted pregnancy,STDs and
training young Girls on Self-Governance skills.
A. SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
- Carry out reproductive health and right education in
schools teenagers;
- Menstrual health awareness in YFC ;
- Counselling activity for under age teen mothers;
- Train youth networks on SRH/GBV mainstreaming for
Nyamasheke District;
- Supporting Students by providing Schools fees and
hygienic kits
B. SELF-GOVERNANCE SKILLS
Under this pillar young Ladies will be trained on their
ability to exercise all necessary functions of regulation without intervention
from an external authority. (internally facing) which will help them to control
their behavior and manage their thoughts and emotions in appropriate ways.
Through Self-Governance skills they will be trained on
different values like:
- Goal setting
- Self-esteem
- Problem solving
- Perseverance
- Decision making
- Self-awareness
- The value of making good choice
- The value of positive attitude
- The value of Commitment
- The value of responsability
- The value of courage
- The value of innitiative
- The value of priorities
- The value of teachebility
- The value of self discipline
- The value of resilience
- The value of influence
After presentation and recommendation we
Visited our stakeholders and Launched "Girls Lead
Club" at GS Shara under theme *Giving Girls wings to fly and cycling to
success*.
Club members were given 100 Hygienic pads.
The AmplfyGirls team led by Anika Dorothy Jenne, Winnie
And Ninjel emphasized on Girls Education, self believe and discipline above
all.
